Achelis is an old established German trading company, founded in 1826, with its head office in the hanseatic town of Bremen and a network of associated companies and representative  offices in more than 20 countries world-wide.

Our export programme is manifold and yet specialised according to the needs of our customers like Government institutions, Parastatals, Private Enterprises, etc. in the individual country. Depending on the requirements, contracts are done either as principal or in the name of the manufacturer represented by Achelis.

The structure of the Achelis Group of Companies, associated organisations and representatives provides the special know-how in sourcing effectively and competitively complete plants, individual machinery, equipment, parts and consumables. Our customers in Sub-Saharan Africa find it easy and beneficial to get their requirements from either Europe, Asia, South Africa and U.S.A. this way. Vice versa many specialised manufacturers appreciate our dedicated involvement in promoting and supporting their export activities. The expertise of the Achelis Group of Companies often facilitates the commercial and technical aspects of an ever increasing number of tender and package deals:

a)   Financing possibilities may be offered depending on volume of the contracts.

b)   Logistics for sea and air transport, customs clearing, inland transport, storage, insurance, pre-shipment inspections and small scale projects on turn-key basis.

c)   After market service is of particular importance. The Achelis companies in Africa have stationary and mobile workshop facilities in various product lines and qualified engineers guarantee appropriate machinery installation and commissioning. Spare parts are available ex stock. Service / Maintenance contracts can be signed.

The Group's annual turnover 2009 covering stock and indent sales, workshop and parts, as well as commission business has exceeded the amount of approx. EUR 87 million.
